Eye condition that shows up on photos

I saw a peace on the news about how somones eye and life or something was saved becuase photos showed one eye when the light was right always appearning very bright and glazed, I have some pictures of a friend (wont be posting them) which does this and I cant remember the name of the condition etc.

Any of you have an idea?
