Back in 1999, I went for my High School work experience in my old primary school. When I was there in 1993, we sang hymns in assembly, granted it was terrible singing and we had no hymn book so the words were all wrong. I remember singing about "Green Ray" for example! But when I went back 6 years later, I noticed that it wasnt done anymore. In fact, there was zero religious references or practices at all from when I was there. I dread to think how things are now almost 10 years on (and how big the pit of stinging nettles that are tall as the school building itself has grown...)

Quote from: SteveFThanks for explaining the church of England to me Serious - obviously this is all new information to me ;)

Just pointing out the obvious. Just because its generally just ignored doesnt mean its not there ;)

QuoteThe fact there are no parties in the street on the queens birthday is what has nothing to do with religion not the queen.  Im sure you could have worked that out tbh.

Difference between theory and practice, we dont do that for the pope either. I do remember attending one street party for the Queens birthday, though it was a long time ago. There arent many street parties now anyway, times have changed and in home entertainment has reduced contact between people.
