Quote from: seattlepi"Hes not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old.

Amusingly enough, hes been a quite popular professor.

Its another story of parents wanting "an opposing viewpoint taught". Thats transparent code for "teach some stupid" as there isnt any credible scientific counterpoint to the widely accepted theory of global warming.

At any rate, Federal Way schools (thats near Seattle) have now restricted the use of Al Gores "Inconvenient Truth." Nice, it aint just the south or the heartland thats creating controversy about nothing.

The fact that the school board caved to these nutters is proof that this sh*t has gotten legitimized in the past few years. sh*t being the belief that the earth is 14,000 years old, despite any shred of evidence to the contrary.

Actually it is true

some muppet tried to do it in Indiana in 1897 and nearly succeeded - the house passed the bill 67 to 0.

It was only by pure chance that a professor happened to be around at the time & stopped the senate from passing it.
