Quote from: neXusI have to laugh and the idiots of the forum again, Yep may not interest you but the drama posts is rather sad, lol. Actual effort to go get a picture for example, LOL. ahh dear.

yes, ive never been to a conference before or had free pens & sh*t, nor fallen asleep during some presentation because of the free booze up the nightbefore.

This, absolutely this without a doubt.  I walked out of one with about £600 for power tools, other are less fun and are just time off work with free pens and the like.  A Mate just went to one for AMD a while back, and walked out with a couple of shiny new CPUs, a motherboard and some RAM.

If you get chatting to the right person youre set!

I went to an MS one & got free copies of XP, Server 2003, Office 2k & some other stuff.

I have a javascript question for you that Ill post up later in web development forum.

Why not?
You still think you use it to draw out your web and it makes up the code for you?

Because you cant develop software with it.
Remember CSS and Javascript a software developer do not make.

Mark

The best conferences I have been to were wifi alliance ones, because they were things that mattered, and you got to see first hand like 802.11n.

Citrix are ok as well. Cisco are stingy, as are MS (IMO)

Checkpoint have been fairly good too, and usually in the US - except once in Israel.

I dont really get the time to go to many now so usually pick and choose when there is something interesting.

Oops again Sam :P
Of course it has support and to develop from Flex to Java. You think it does not? ^^
In saying that thought I personally prefer sitepadpro or Aptana for java.
The CMS is .NET based so you know.

Just been chatting through the forum set up for this, really it is a "Lab" more then a conference since its only about 20 odd people invited. Sounds Cozy, lol.

It may be quite exciting to you but you might want to understand why egg etc.. have posted sarcastic stuff.

People go to conferences everyday, its perfectly normal for someone working in XZY industry to attend meetings conferences whatever, Im sure youll go to plenty more conferences too. You get to stay in a nice hotel, have fun trying to see what you can get away with billing to expenses and will meet other like minded people. With any luck the conference will be held in a decent location and youll get a day or two off so basically get a short free holiday too.

The point is that this isnt really unusual, it might be a new experience for you but so was perhaps getting the bus/train/car in on your first day of work - if you post a thread saying "Im super excited today as Im starting a new job sat at a desk in an office doing something IT related and will be getting the train in tomorrow" dont be too surprised if a few people on here dont find it too exciting but rather feel the need to post an appropriate picture to express their thoughts.

Meh, in all fairness I do believe Nexus may get a bit more of a hard time than most. I mean, what you say is true, but I think others posting a similar topic may have got off a bit lighter. I dont think the situation is helped by his spelling/grammar/wording half the time though  :|

I knew they may do, I said so from the start. Not interested, do not have to read it. Certanly does not warrent Childish remarks.
Do not care? Fair enough, you probably do not, but it is a point of discussion and on MSN for example I got some grats as the people in the field know what this sort of thing means.

Saying conference is a mistake as it is but it is not. It is a new Partner use based development scheme where we can help not just test but nut out the functionality, interface and future developments.
The system I can now log in has tasks for me, I can assign tasks to others, forum discussions etc. Quite an extensive Project management beta system as it were. And As I mentioned it is only a handful of people.
So my bad on saying conference, but I knw what you mean.

True but Egg and Co do not post such comments in a new job thread etc and there are plenty of threads like this. They just like being childish and enjoy targeting people. Some times it is one person they all pick on then the next. They 10 times better then they used to be, but the little bully group still like to pick on people and I just always thought it Childish. Here again though you got to agree it is. Not interested - Fair enough, Going to the effort to post with picture - bit pointless.
Not overly fussed, just saying. I knew so, Why I said in my very first post about how it would not interest everyone.

I think more people need to post whats going on in their lives to waffle. It gets people chatting and busies up the place!

That gets picked up as well, But if your doing other things and type fast your not really paying attention. Big posts like my movie stuff I spend the care to get it looking right. Spelling - there is none as it comes as I type, Names etc of course people get wrong.
I mentioned it and linked before when someone mentioned this before, I pulled up several threads, several people all with similar grammar and layout lazyness. They never get pulled up.
I think it is the right place being waffle, People have posted about far less pointless stuff which I have actually enjoyed reading regardless. If I do not find it interesting to me I do not go and moan about it though :) As Nige said, this is waffle.

zpyder

Hey, dont get me wrong, I dont mean this nastily, I was just offering a suggestion. Most other people posting here will be doing other stuff and likely typing fast too, but I would think or hope they take the time to spell check their posts first afterwards. Other people may post badly written/worded things, but not as consistently. People have styles which you start to recognise without having to look at the posters name/avatar, and yours usually comes across as a rapidly written stream of thought without much care in the way of how difficult it may be for others to fully read. Same as you can usually recognise eggs as being the sarcastic or harsh posts half the time ;)

Yeah people get names wrong, but a good example is your dErren brown thread, if youre going to post a thread about someone or something, using its name as the title, its a good idea to make the effort to double check youve got it right first, a simple copy/paste into google should usually do the trick when itll say "Did you mean Derren Brown?" ;)

I know, Did not take it that way, just pointing that out because I have before.

But quite a few actually dont.

See consistent bad spelling here all the time.

As you said, because I was bad before with valid reason, if I do not currently I get pulled up on it, while others here quite often actually even worse. I wont point or name because that is childish but I am looking at a thread now proving my point.
