There are severa ways to handle them Bongella being one commercial version. You can also use salt water, for the old but cheap and painful method, or tea tree oil, which doesnt takste so good but a dab on every so often kills mouth ulcers quickly.

I now tend to use tea tree oil, despite most of the bottles saying not to take orally.

Theres no point seeing a GP for something as trivial as mouth ulcers

besides i usually bank things up and then go to see the GP with a whole host of problems

Haha.

Last time I had them I took the hardcore route and skipped the salt water and just rubbed some seasalt into it.

Hurt.Like.Hell.

But did the job.

The main thing I like bonjela for, is that it tastes funky.

It might be that your tooth brush is unhygenic.

I some times get them but when I scald my toothbrush with boiling water it clears up after a day or 2.

Listerine is always a good thing too. or increase brushing your teeth to 3 times a day or 4 times a day maybe?

I use listering at lunch time at work.

not sure about anyone here, but Colgate toothpastes give me ulcers.  There is something in them that Im allergic to.  if you are getting them regularly then it might be the brand of toothpaste you are using.

Dont do this because if you scrub too much youll end up rubbing off the enamel from your teeth, and eventually get tooth rot. Youll also damage your gums and end up with all sorts of gum diseases.

a)if you want to see someone about it see a dentist not a dr

b)try a saltwater mouthwash every few hrs & Bonjela

c)the main cause of mouth ulcers is stress, its also caused from being run down

And thats from the advice of a Dental Nurse! lol

Good luck getting rid of them

This isnt true, but it is recommended that you brush your teeth at least twice a day in a vertical/circular movement and make sure the brush comes into contact with the gums .i.e brush your gums as well, and use only a soft toothbrush if you do tend to scrub your teeth very hard or you can wear a groove into your teeth making them more sensitive.

It should be done gently anyway, scrubbing your teeth hard can cause as many problems as not doing it at all ;)

There is also the issue of eating too much sugary/acidic food.

Alternatively use an electric rotary brush or one of the vibrating ones.

How my dentist/hygenist recommended I brush.

Grab electric toothbrush, doesnt have to be a fancy one.

Squirt toothpaste onto a clean finger, rub finger around mouth making sure you coat all your teeth with toothpaste.

In a circular motion work around your mouth brushing both the inside and outside surfaces of your teeth.

Buy some interdental brushes (better than floss) and brush between your teeth.

Rinse.

Twice daily.
