Operation number 10 on November 5th with the NHS also refusing to do the big operation I wanted now becuase the doctor did not want to risk more damage (basically scared to do it) so will have to have it done privately in new zealand next year

Not having the big operation now may mean that its easier to do it later.

Also watch out for private doctors taking risks for the money.

Id get personal accident insurance & lose the hand in accident.
Youll get a nice hook to replace it with + a nice insurance lump sum.
