had an alert from google a couple of weeks ago saying someone in texas on an Iphone tried to log into my account - with my password but they shut it down anyway and I had to reset my password

didn't think much of it tbh...  (checked and it was deffo google tho, not phishing scam)

ran virus scanners etc. anyway

then about a week ago same thing with amazon.. deffo amazon but made me worry a little bit... re ran virus scanners etc.  and didn't find anything... weird but ok....

and now I've had the same message from ebay


all virus scanners etc. are coming up clean... anyone have any ideas ?

twice in 2015 and then again August 2017

guessing most recent one is where this is coming from

scanned again and everything is clean, guess at least it's safe to change password without worrying they're leaking out somewhere :-s

I had no less than 4 ebay hack warnings last month, changed my Paypal and ebay passwords each time, still kept getting the same emails through - I thought it was a hoax at first as well. Later on my M$ account had someone trying to login from Singapore, so had to change the password on that too. Nothing since! The only thing you can do in these circumstances is change your passwords.

Always use different passwords, even more so for important sites like ebay and amazon.

I keep mine in a file on an encrypted memory stick, with a backup hidden somewhere at home.
