NEW YORK - A small aircraft crashed into a high-rise on the Upper East Side, setting off a fire and startling New Yorkers, police said. There were conflicting reports on whether the aircraft was a small plane or a helicopter.
Shame, but not nearly as shocking as the residential commercial jet that crashed in New Jersey very soon after the 9/11 attacks. Thats when it just felt sick.
Hope there are survivors, but it looks pretty grim.
Lots will thing "terror!!!!" and all that but actually that sort of thing is not uncommon in large city scapes even before 9/11
Plane belonged to NY Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle. He was believed to be on board. Thats the update.
