Was playing last night and saw a royal flush dealt out as the community cards, no setup. What are the odds of that in a 4 seated game of Hold em?
8 cards dealt -> no AKQJT of any one suit
5 cards dealt -> AKQJT of that suit come out

playing online or with a real deck?
Most places online have a Jackpot for when such a thing is dealt.
Ive seen it once in a tornement I was playing in & I also came close to it once myself. when I held 2x & another 2x came in the flop. Everyone folded on the turn, so I didnt get to see if I would have one or not.
real life, at a friends house.
I play poker at my house with some mates and consistently come last :)
I always lose too... but i thgink its just because i get bored and piss about !
if someone takes the piss and says im crap, i play much better !
my local now has poker nights on a thursday.
Some sort of national league with a seat to the WSP on offer.

Assuming you have four players, each gets 5 cards dealt to them then its 5 in 13, 4 in 12, 3 in 11, 2 in 10 and finally 1 in 9
5x4x3x2x1 in 13x12x11x10x9 = 120 in 154440 or 1 in 1287
Actually Im probably talking bollocks :/
Im going to have a drink...
Surely its just as likely as any other combination?... :?
yes, but a lot depends on how they deal the cards. If they deal to the pot before then its different to doing it at the same time. Which is why the one I gave above is almost certainly wrong. You need to know the order they deal the cards in to work out the odds.
the order doesnt matter.
8 cards dealt out, which cannot include AKQJT of at least one suit.
then
5 cards dealt out, which are AKQJT of one suit
