Anyone got any good recipes for prawns theyd like to share? Ive been searching online for some and not found many good ones. Ive got two big bags of prawns to use that were supposed to go on prawn cocktails at Christmas (me and my mum decided to get wasted on Brandy instead!)

depends on the amount of prawns but

chop up a red chilli, remove the seeds if you feel the need to.
chop up some garlic.

add the above two to some red hot oil (so hot its shimmering) for the 15 secs it takes to brown the garlic slices then drop the prawns in. turn them over after about a minute. drain and serve on a bed of lettuce leaves.

simple enough right? anything which takes away from the taste of the prawns is bad imo.

I usually chuck them in a stir fry, sure its not a recipe per se but its a piece of cake 8-)

Agreed Matt, I forgot to mention I was seeking to avoid curry recipes, etc for the reason of detracting from their taste.

Stir frying seems as quick and easy an option as any.

mix them with a bit of mayo and bang them inbetween 2 slices of bread

Sweet and sour stir fry king prawns perhaps?

Im not one for prawn sarnies, but yeah I might pick up a jar of sweet and sour.

If they are expensive prawns then OK, for cheap ones though a milder curry can be nice. Ive even had a Vietnamese fish curry, although I didnt make it personally, this requires an especially good balance of tastes or you drown the fish in spices.

I knocked up my own special fried rice in the end, it was pretty good
