I think it could be argued they got the location right but the math wrong. Obviously the satellite GPS systems should be adjusted to give the correct location.

The actual prime meridian location is arbitrary and really doesn't make any difference in this case, it is actually described as 0° 00′ 05.3101″ W and not 0° 00′ 00″ W

Overall it's scientists being pedantic

I read that in the comments too. The prime meridian is a definition, so how can it be wrong!
