Very sad news, lost probably the best singer of my generation.

Meh, another from the Winehouse collection.

Hours before she was ranting and raving, either wasted on booze and drugs or both with scratches on her arms etc. Rumour is she was broke and her house was about to be taken off her as well.

I have seen twitter comments and comments from people having a go at people who say "That is what happens when you do drink and drugs" because "You do not know the bad things that is going on in their life" Etc.
These bad things happen because you are on that spiral slope of these things.

This is basically what will happen to you if you do heavy drinking and drugs. No matter how rich you are your going to loose it all and this is very much on the cards for you.
I hope she can now RIP but she would still be producing some top hit songs (not as many, but the odd one) if she did not go down the path she went. How many Celebs need to die in this manner for the others take note?
Demi More had a scare and really needs to wake up and take note of this otherwise she could be next.

It is NOT an easy life being a Celeb, for you and me it may look like it but I can appreciate being in the limelite and the cameras being almost every where you go must be a nightmare but still... Drink and drugs are not the answer.

From this and recent deaths though I have a few opinions and thoughts.

1. Family & Friends doing a bad job. The person in question is in a state and they could refuse help etc but if you not got the people around you to help you, guide you etc then bad things will happen and they have to take some of the blame if they sit aside and do nothing. Lindsey Lohan, clearly had no one. Miley Cyrus had her dad very closely leading her for a long time, but not she is older and moved away from his guidance she is also on a bit of a ropey path.

2. This keeps happening, I would have thought Celebs would see this and not want this to happen to them.

3. Paps: Globally something needs to be done. From tapping phones, taking pictures right in your face at 3am off a plane flight that took 11 hours. Sneaking into your property, Stalking you on holiday. Rumours, fake stories..... It needs to be stopped. This media like what is coming to light in the UK are getting away with things and ruining these peoples lives.
"XXXXXX seen shopping wearing the wrong colour jeans for the month, OH no she has a pimple, shes ugly! Look at this 10 page spread" Stupid women who buy the mags that find this interesting. I DON'T CARE. I had a big crap and the loo smells a bit - That makes news? Are you nuts? (Actually happened to Brad Pitt, lol)
These need to be cut down a bit and people given space. They clearly look and even create reaction and it is clearly bad for anyone's health and sanity.

It is a sad thing and could be avoided.

neXus, this isn't a thread to rant in. If there is trustworthy evidence available of what you are putting out then please include links in another thread.

The clip isn't funny and is really bad publicity for C4.

It isn't whether she took drugs or not, everyone with any real knowledge of the real person knew she did. There was a reason behind her doing so, and she wasn't the only one to do so. If it was drugs that caused her death then she followed a lot of other greats suffering anxiety problems.

That there is a problem is, perhaps, more society's fault than theirs, the stress on these people is great and correct support lacking.

It was obviously an unfortunate accident on Channel 5s part, as I doubt they did it just for a laugh.

It is all very sad but as I said about Winehouse, if the genuine support of friends and loved ones was there for these people they would not end up like this, instead they are probably surrounded by brown-nosers, sycophants and people after a cut. If they were at the bottom of the social circle, poverty stricken and living on the streets you could understand it somewhat. Fact is though she made millions and could sink under the public radar any time she liked, plenty of rich celebrities manage just fine with the 'anxiety' of publicity IMO. She he hard stuff like many, got hooked, had no support to get off it. I don't really have much sympathy for people that OD.

Which just shows how much we actually understand about stress.

There is no evidence she overdosed or was taking illegal drugs. There are articles that state that she managed to get herself off illegal drugs. The drugs she had were prescription ones and probably legally given by a doctor. Until the toxicology report there is no evidence available that she overdosed on those.

There has been a rumour put out that she didn't have enough water in her lungs to drown, that is plain nonsense. When water gets inside someone's windpipe there is an automatic closing action. That can choke people on as little as a mouthful of water. Plenty of drown people have no water in their lungs at all.

So it is quite possible that she went to have a bath, fell asleep and then drown. The question is, did she have the drugs in her system and how much?

As to being able to sink under the radar, I doubt if she could, she's far too well known. Effectively she would have to imprison herself. That doesn't seem to be the problem here anyway, I would guestimate that it was as much a problem of self esteem, which affects far too many people, and stage anxiety.

I'm not saying she did OD or that was the cause, I'm just saying I have little sympathy for people who wreck their lives through drug abuse, but especially celebrities.

Dave

Well she was certainly a very good singer. I don't know much about her personal life to comment much on the drugs stuff. It does seem that she had gone off the rails a bit and a significant factor in that perhaps was Bobby Brown.

Serious

She certainly isn't the only one, there are far too many going through substance abuse issues or on prescribed drugs. The news, paparazzi and gosip industries thrive on any bit of information they can get, even if they have to go beyond what is reasonable or legal to get it. Then some of the stars just can't easily take the amount of stress that is required.

I've heard of stage stars being so psychologically ill just before they go on that they vomit, others that would almost drink themselves comatose. then there are those who are given drugs to keep them going despite them being injured. Films are big money, the cost goes up for every minute delay and the pressure is on to keep filming. Who cares if the lead is injured? Give them some painkillers and keep them going.

TBH I don't think we know half of what is happening to keep the entertainment industry going.
