Strange that what was left out is more interesting than what was left in. Brexit, Brexit, and Brexit with a few other bits that the other main parties mostly agree on. Most of the stuff in the Tory manifesto was ditched.

And it's going to last 2 years...

Most interesting thing said was Dennis Skinner's comment, "yeah, get your skates on, first race is half-past two!"

EDIT - So boring I forgot to post the link...

Dave

well the Maybot f**ked up her election and lost seats so had to back down on stupid stuff like fox hunting etc..

Eggtastico

could well the last queens speech. This is a 2yr parliament because of brexit.

matt5cott

IMO "Brexit" is one of the greatest distractions and is likely to be one of the most powerful scapegoats in modern history.

All paths lead to destruction, if voting made a difference to the NWO types, you wouldn't be allowed to.

Clock'd 0Ne

Exactly.

I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing about Brexit, all this BS about 'striking a good deal'   Bitch couldn't strike a match.

I'll give you £100 cash mate collect today!

According to reports (source Prince Harry) all of the other 'royals' are happy to keep her ad infinitum, none of them want the job.

Then perhaps that's your chance, King Eggtastico? No, not really :p

I really wish Cameron hadn't bothered with his gamble of the nations future. Then I've heard more outright lies and deceit about it than anything else.

Will we be better off? nobody knows (unless there really is a god), it's a massive gamble and the probability is we are already worse off, which is why the government are pushing the austerity measures.

Dave

we're objectively worse off at the moment simply as a result of our currency taking a dive after the Brexit result, though whether we'll be better or worse off in the long run is yet to be seen

austerity measures have little to do with this though

Eggtastico

yup.
No such thing as Austerity, its called living within your means.
Even with all the so called cuts, our national debt has still gone up.
Just not as much by if we had not made cuts. We cant keep borrowing money to pay for services, as at some point that money needs to be paid back.
People want everything, yet we dont have the means to fund everything.
They moan they want this & that for their kids to grow up in, yet they do not realise it will be their kids & grandkids having to pay for it.
Its always the same. Labour Tax & Spend, Tories have nothing left to spend so make cuts. History repeating itself. Lets not forget who got us in the last mess.

The left parties want to spend, & spend recklessly.

Serious

Sometimes spending does work, the US got out of the recession between the wars purely by government spending. There have been many other instances too, Gernany after WW1 only failed because of America going into depression.

The recession was caused through banks lending recklessly, not the government spending recklessly. Admittedly the Labour government trusted the banks a bit too much but so did the American one and a lot of others. Capitalism failed because of corporate and personal greed, as it always does.

Austerity can cause a recession to continue or even make it worse, which is what happened when Osbourne got control. It happened previously at the end of WW2 when the government put excessive controls on spending. Had the election that put Cameron in been different and Brown been put in for another term we could well have been much better off now.
