Does anyone know about teaching English in Japanese schools?

If Skidzilla is about, whats it like in Japan as youre out there arent you ?
Is it hot? humid? cold?

Are the apartments small and confined like in most TV shows and films I see?

It isnt an idea! Im looking to get out of this country for a while and see some other part of the world. Im at the stage of my life where I can do it.

You could prolly teach in Czech easily. You dont need a work visa and they hire loads of people to teach English (its full of yanks who do it).

+ czech girls are good looking & easy

also they tend to have better figures than the flabby slags you find in some of the cheaper english nightclubs

czech girls FTW!! We have some at work, and they are all really nice, plus there isnt a fat arse between them!

Hmm, Im reading a lot about Japan, Id like to live in the city if I did go out there.

Basically my contract is up at the end of February and the school terms start in mid march over there. So Itd be pretty much perfect for me.

Ill investigate czech teaching too but would prefer Japan as then I could learn Japanese too :D

Quixoticish

I believe its relatively easy to get things sorted, you need to have a bachelors degree in any subject minimum to get your VISA and demonstrate that your English is of a suitable standard for some places but lots of people go to Japan to teach English. Youll need sponsorship as well to get you in, I believe there are firms that will sort this out for you in the UK or alternatively you can try and get it from a company already based in Japan.

Thanks for that, Ive seen some places where a degree isnt necessary, although cant find much more detail about that... Im going to keep looking though.

My highest qualification is a Btec National Diploma    :whoops:  :?

From what Im reading Id probably be on a low wage or not even considered if I dont have a degree in something.

F*** Sake! Degrees prove NOTHING except you spent 3 or 4 years in a classroom.

youll end up dead in a bath full of sand.

Ok, they dont really, Im just sick of some people saying degrees are the great thing.

I think they arent a touch on real life experiences.

Although some sites say if I have a TEFL certificate then it can help. So I might look for a TEFL course local to me.

Theres this: http://www.uk-tefl.com/page.php?pageid=58 < What are peoples thoughts on that ?
