I just wikid it last night, as Im in love with Wikipedia and virtual travel. :P

Looks to be a quite grand, if polluted city:

Its easy for me to forget that Iran is Persian, not Arabic and has many large and fairly impressive cities.

Would love to visit Baghdad at some point too, when all of this nonsense settles down.

Eek, thats a remote possibility. I hope his doc keeps him in Viagra so he doesnt feel the need.

Supposedly other Iranian cities are more beautiful:

Just amazing that a lot of yanks dont understand that its not just a wasteland waiting to be bombed, its big metro areas no different than NYC or London, albeit with a slightly fed up government.

The locals are supposed to be extremely gracious to strangers and most young folks can converse in English.

At least Beirut is supposedly good to visit these days, it used to be quite the tourist destination:

They dont let him anywhere near the big red button AFAIK, too damn dangerous.

I thought they had him on an interesting set of tranquilisers?  :?

Dave

we had an ex tank commander at school who served over there in the army before the revolution said he loved the place - also said that the women there are stunning.
