You may have seen it on the news already but tests are being carried out by the lander in more detail but it is all but 100% that there is indeed ice and thus water on Mars.

They expect to dig a little more and wider area and find a full shelf of ice as expected. How far does it go? Who knows but if its that close to the surface expect a lot of it. I think it is an amazing thing to think about water on another planet close to our own. Depending on what is in the ice and how close it is to our own it could mean a source to aid a landing on Mars so less need to carry a lot of water and a external supply to use.
Heck Total Recall anyone?

Wonder how much it costs to buy some martian land? I can predict that the real estate values up there are going to go up in about 50 years...

Serious

Those that are buying land on the moon, etc. are in for it when they find out that there is no legal basis for their claim.

The only way to be sure is to go up there and stake your own claim ;)

Right! where can I get a few thousand fireworks without ID?
