Cooking properly can include cooking it rare. As long as its a whole cut and you arent eating it raw in the middle itll be fine, trichinae worms can be killed off at a temperature that still means you get a good rare piece of meat if you are careful (not that there has been a reported case since the late 70s but its better to be safe than sorry).

Three cheers for pink pork!

And I suppose you have good evidence available for that? Last time it came up it was maximusotter who spouted it and I proved that there had been infections every year since in the US. It isnt just trichinae either, there are others carried by pigs.

Ill continue to take my chances. No doubt youll do some quick googling to prove otherwise but Ill be in bliss ignoring it all in the meantime eating my pink pork.

long may you continue to get away with it :)

I tend to think the optimal breakfast roll is one which allows you to essentially eat a full English without using a knife and fork. Bacon, Egg, and Sausies barest minimum. I have yet to come up with a workable way to include baked beans.

Its called a flattie, or flat loaf in the north east. Has several other names too but its basically a plate sized bun. Cut it in half and put your food on one half, bag the other for the next morning.

TBH they used to do this before they had plates, the bread acted as a plate and the table top was scrubbed clean instead.

Use a variation on the mediaeval trenchour; a hollowed out bread roll style thing. You may get a small amount of bean leakage but if youre careful you should be able to manage with no hands.

so have you pulled any worms out of your arse yet?

I believe a hollowed out bluma would also accommodate this, however you may find your mouth cant open enough to insert.

FWIW: Bacon + egg + sausage + mushrooms = WIN

No sauces! (bunch of flaming heretics...)

With pork its worms in your brain you have to worry about.

Sausages on a sarnie are evil incarnate. The texture is just.... bleurgh. The only thing that should be on bread is bacon. Lots of bacon. With a pinch of brown sauce if you must, but thats it.

Rivkid

got to resurrect this thread - your ALL WRONG!!

Sausage + Fried Egg + Black Pudding + Ketchup = butty of the gods!  :D
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

They used to do half bloomers filled with a full english at one place I worked. Never had the guts to get one, I stuck to sausage & bacon baguettes.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

True even for vegetarians (excluding black pudding, we have to exchange it for bacon) :D

Quixoticish

Vegetarians dont eat bacon... if they do they arent vegetarians.

Serious

There is vegetarian bacon, its never been near a pig. Tastes OK but the texture is rubbish :(
