Next year will bring us out of the gay Naughties and into the...?
Tens?
Teens?
Either way another gay naming 10 years, lol.
Hmph. I was going to say teens, When you think back to 1918, 1914 I always think of it as nineteen-eighteen etc. However you never heard them called that in history lessons. Mind you history lessons for me rarely covered that era, favouring the 2nd world war and the industrial revolution really. I guess though theyre the nineteen-tens though, even if the actual years are teenagers...
Teens is just an anthropological expression though isnt it? I would have thought tens is the correct way, as poor as it sounds.

Any number that ends in "teen" is a teen, so 2010 and 2011 would be a bit difficult. I think "twenty tens" would be the most acceptable but its inevitable it will end up being "the tens". It just sounds unusual to us, well soon get used to it.
Youre totally right of course.
