They hate their homeboy, Gore

Al Gores family home is not far from where I type this. Hes up for an Academy Award, has received many honors around the globe for his work in environmental awareness, including one by Prince Charles in New York on Saturday. Hes just been nominated for a Nobel Effing Peace Prize. But what do the locals say?

As an article in todays Tennessean says:

Quote from: Tennessean
Al, is Earth really getting warmer, can you prove it?

Quote from: AJ McCall, Wilson co. GOP leader

I cant see it myself. Ive read too much about global warming, and theres no basis for their conclusions, theres no science about it. Its just all politically motivated.

Yup, only in Merica would a guy lament "having read too much." If hes really read anything credible at all, hed have much different opinion.

So thats the news from the Cumberland basin--despite a world wide consensus of scientists and reports from the UN--the vast majority of Tennesseans think that global warming is some sort of political conspiracy. Theyll disown their fellow Tenneseans, like the honorable Al Gore, if he contradicts what right wing radio and AK47 Jebus says on Sunday.

Sad thing is, is that the local paper thinks that there are "two sides" to the global warming issue. They publish probably two denier stories to each scientific story. Next stop, there will be two sides to other issues of the day, like child diddling. One side says it scars childrens psyches, the other says, "but it makes me *** so freakin hard when I touch their tiny bodies!" More news at 6...
