for a halloween party? Having a nightmare with this due to the postal strikes. Any suggestions of a high street or an online store that will do courier?

WIN

CBA to count how many are there. They do come from a lab, but should be sterile in the sense theyve never been used. Last year when they were doing some re-development and installing a genetics lab at uni they had to get rid of a load of stuff so I helped cart everything out, and when I found out that they were whacking a crapload of it in the skip, when it had never been used, I asked if I could have them, among other things. I figured theyd make for an interesting spice rack :D

Problem is they are quite thick glass, that box probably weighs about a kilo. It might almost be cheaper to find a large toyshop that might have a plastic chemistry set or similar?

Rivkid

hmm yeah I see what you mean - damn annoying though those would be perfect :(

How many do you really need? I mean, if youre doing shots, I would have thought you could just use 5 and reuse them? Wouldnt have thought 5 would weigh that much...180g to be exact?

Rivkid

Im planning on making three punch bowls and using these to serve them in. 5 would be fine as Im just going to leave funnels for refills. How much do you think it would cost?

No idea tbh. Ill leave that one to you to figure out (Im currently *working*) sh*ttylink wont do individual one-off items :/- Another option would be the company uni gets most lab stuff through, not sure if theyre trade only and whatnot but:

£16.92 for 50 large tubes + whatever the P&P is...?

Not when youve added on delivery its not - and they use Parcel Force. Not sure if thats affected at the minute...

Ive never tried them before but:

http://www.interparcel.com/quote/courier-quote2.php

Their non-guaranteed interparcel economy service is £6.50 + VAT. (For items up to 1KG).

I could maybe send you 10 for £5 + the P&P (so £12.50). Open to negotiations, though Im saying this price as these are full on analytical grade test tubes (bit overkill for punch servers!), rather than an el-cheapo job. And the uni wonders why its hemmoraging money...

chrisdicko

Ive used http://www.parcel2go.com tons.......well, all the time when I post stuff. Always had great service!

Edd

parcelforce are NOT affected by the strike, they have their own distribution hubs and what not
