I dont remember ever writing that much for mine. Probably why the courswork part of my A2 only garnered a C

I also recall excessively using photoshop editing to pretend things worked that actually didnt.

lol thats the biggest project youll ever have to do.

I got an A for mine wrote 190 pages (incl screenies :D). Its a realllly painful one to do. Even my group project for 2nd year in uni its a 10,000 word group project without appendicies or diagrams, and 10 sides of A4 for the individual report, but doesnt equate to the ol A2 computing :D

lol recently did that in one of my university courseworks :D

Clicking a button on the gui would cause an error message to print out on the command line spoiling the spooling of results so a quick shifty in MSPaint 5 mins before I had to print it sorted it out nicely :D

ROFL, the most I have ever typed up in 9700 words and 50 pages.  That took two weeks to type up.  That was my Final Year Project for my degree.

The guidline was 5000-10,000 words btw.

Unless of course you move out of computer science or stay in uni for more than a year or two ;)

Gratz mate - go recover and celebrate!

DeltaZero

Also should point out, despite having 100 hours or somthing worth of development and documenting time I decided to do it all in 6 days...averaging 4.3 hours of sleep...slept 14 hours today...slowly recovering!

Erm.. "stay in uni for more than a year or two" wink or no wink I find that a wee bit flamey.

I am in the second year of my course. I fully intend completing it (staying more than 1 or 2 years) and am considering my options after the 3rd year, do I want to take up a placement with the BAS or do I want to do a post graduate degree, I am not sure at this moment in time, but I certainly will be staying longer than "1 or 2 years" as a matter of fact Ive been in uni 4 years already, changed courses and a foundation year due to not having maths at A level.

My A level Computing coursework had NO maximum size, only minimum size. From what I have read (1st class honours dissertations included) even the final year individual and final year group projects (Masters) have size limits.

The A level computing coursework is by far the largest project youll ever encounter. That is of course if you dont choose to do an MRes or a PHD in a field as I imagine a post graduate degree would be more report orientated.

Woah boy, step back from the keyboard, breath and then read the post again...

I was just pointing out thats not true if he goes to uni and reaches third year and beyond.  Your thesis at the end of your 3rd year degree at uni will be bigger.  your thesis for a masters will be bigger still and the thesis for a doctorate makes them both look like you were writing a short abstract for a mr man book.

Its not a flame about you and in fact it had nothing to do with you... :O  Im guessing youve got some kind of paranoia about having to start uni over or something and thats why you misread it.  I dont know anything about you so how would I be making a dig about you having to start uni again?

The comment was simply that after the first year or two of uni you start producing big documents, nothing more.

no they have guidelines because simply producing a huge document of waffle is a waste of time.  If you have something important to say, doing it in a consise way is a skill.  Also, the grade you get (i.e. first class honours) doesnt affect the size of the report just the quality of the work.  Writing more than is necessary wont get you a better grade and will actually probably reduce your grade in the end as itll just be waffle.  The general guide is two results/bits of information per paragraph.  If a paragraph doesnt give at least two new ideas/results then it probably shouldnt be there.
