Bittersweet day today.

Had the call, been offered a job that should get my career back on track after being stuck on desktop support for 3 years, great! Was feeling pretty good after that.

But then got a message from a girl i really like, met ages ago and and went out a few times, never really went anywhere but i hoped to maintain some sort of friendship, basically doesnt want to see me again, as a friend or anything, i was and still am pretty gutted about it despite the fact we were never together.

Kinda took the edge off the good news from earlier.

life sucks.

Thats a bit harsh of her, why did she come out of the blue just to tell you that?

Dunno why, i was reasonably happy to just be a friend and see her every now and then, i guess she just doesnt have the time for it or didnt want to for some reason. Anyway, time i moved on i guess.

Indeed gotta get this career on track, the ferrari wont buy itself.

Could be for the best, you can start a clean slate at your new job. Never know there might be fit PA you could ask to help fill your schedule

Sounds to me like she has got a new fella who is overly protective (read: psychotic) about her having male friends. Had it happen to a friend of mine during uni, suddenly she barely spoke to all the guys of our group and barely ever came out with the group without having him in tow to keep an eye on her.

If that is the situation you are probably better to be clear of it as he must have some sway over her and it will only get worse.

But gratz on the new job and I hope, as Nige said, that there is hotty in the office that takes you under her wind, so to speak, when you first start up there.
