You know, sometimes Americans scare me s**tless :hunf:

And I bet he makes a packet on targets, ammo and range use.

Id love to go down to a place like that and shoot some fifty caliber handguns. :D I just dont see the point in owning one.

ok the laughter at the end is somewhat scary

I would rather like to go to the states one day and shoot a .50 rifle at ~2000 yds just for the experience of it. Or better still with a mil-dot scope at unknown ranges. Somehow though I dont think I want to be near that man.

lol true men dont use scopes. just iron sights ;)

Fired a .45 rifle and a .375 rifle Christ... the .375 was used for elephants prior to its more legal use of shooting paper targets. Can safely say my shoulder has known nothing more powerful.

Not really a kick just a pow and you find your shoulder neatly cleaved off, and served with a side salad and some boiled new potatoes off to your right hand side.

To fire a .50 would be a dream.

Iron sights on a 50 cal? thats just not using the capabilities of the gun ;)

If youre going to go retro a muzzle loader is the only way forward. Very few things more satisfying than nailing a .22 cartrige box from 50 yards with a .45 muzzle loader made to a 150 year old design. They leap in the air so ammusingly.

The .375 sounds like fun.

edit: I feel I should clarify that the .22 cart box is empty

The fact they have more gun outlets than McDonalds "restaurants" says it all for me.

I used to like shooting with rifles before I turned 20 now I have no desire to. I did target practise starting when I was 15 with a 1898 mauser fitted with a diopter (peep sight).
