Title: what are my rights here.. ordering online
Post by: GroovyPigThing on January 13, 2007, 14:18:47 PM
I recently placed an order with a website, specifying a different delivery address to my billing address. I received confirmation of my order, but it only mentioned the billing address. I was slightly concerned that my shipping address hadnt gone through so I emailed to check, and received a reply stating that they had indeed got my delivery address (they wrote it in the email so they definitely knew it). My order was then dispatched yesterday, and arrived at the wrong address today. This is completely useless to me because Im not living there at the moment! And the item in question is pretty big, its not at all straightforward to have it sent on.

So what are my rights here? I have emailed them asking what they plan to do and that I expect them to pay any costs associated with getting it to the right place. If they cant arrange to fix the problem, can I get a refund from my credit card company or something?

You may have to check this site T&C very closely. some stores will only ship to the billing adress and some will only ship larger/more expensive item to the billing address.

Read the T&C of the shipping, if they do have a clause your probably out of luck, if not they should rectify their mistake.

Well, they confirmed your delivery address. Get em to collect & ship to the correct address.

They f***ed up & they pretty much agreed to liability by confirming your delivery address.

This is waht happens in Stores.. pay them Peanuts & you get monkeys.

well I got an email saying sorry and theyll get the courier to pick it up and get it to the right address. Annoyingly my mums going to have to take it to work and the courier pick it up from there, if my mum knew that it was at the wrong address she couldve rejected delivery and them just tell the courier the right address, but anyway, hopefully it will get here eventually
