I am going to and I will ?

going can describe some thing another is doing, or imply travel to somewhere.
Not sure why, but "I will feels" more correct , as opposed to "going to" feeling like a bastardisation, like using to instead of too,
...us two are going to the shop too.
...us two are going to the shop to

I take it as ...
I am going to - I am going to do it/something but not giving you a time or sense of urgency to when.
I will - Gives a sense that you will do it sooner rather then later and a stronger indication of willingness to do it/something.

That seems right, thanx :)
Both are technically correct and proper. To expand on how Nexus interprets them "I will" implies a spur of the moment thought whilst "I am going to" implies something that was planned prior to the conversation taking place.
hmmm I will think this through in the morning when I am sober, I am going to sleep now.
