Long covid is a variant specifically from covid-19 infection. I have fibromyalgia which seems related in some way, although male sufferers are rarer than women.

They encapsulated a variety of similar conditions under that term but there are a lot of varieties that share common things as listed and then the specific things as well. I would imagine that Long Covid would indeed fall under that.
I got tested, I had the flu and I have a serious chest infection as a result. Since I have this condition plus a scared up lung from when it collapsed it has been rough :(

Fibronyalgia is also a range of issues that have similar conditions but cannot be specifically tested for. They actually did a whole load of tests to rule out all the things they know about and then labelled it. Which isn't that helpful as mine appears to be genetic and still getting worse.

People can survive with only one lung, but look after yours. For that matter get the vaccine every year too, I do and even paid for it when I had to. When offered the covid vaccine I accepted instantly, second jab 6th June.

I normally do get the flu jab and was planning too as it is now autumn it has just started to be offered. Australia has had a few years of getting this years variant wrong and initial jabs early on not effective so you give it a few weeks.
3 years ago I got my jab and got the flu 3 weeks later and then a few weeks after that they said the entire jab wont work this year, got it wrong, sorry, lol.

Lung wise - Yes, no sky diving and all that And I do because if it collapses again they will have to glue it to my rib cage :(

The vaccine is an informed guess but probably worth it. They have to predict which variants will be prevalent this year and they can get that wrong.

I don't think that is the case, or at least not in terms of the cases people are concerned about.

With long covid cases, there have been studies where they've been able to pick up lung damage (Xenon gas + MRI) - that's likely to the be contributing to the exhaustion/tiredness etc.. that isn't some example of CFS (which is controversial) but rather it is down to real damage that can be diagnosed/detected.

There seem to be many different people affected in different ways, and there are reports of 'chronic fatigue' following covid infection. Many who have exhaustion/tiredness etc. do not have lung damage and some of those that do don't have the tiredness or exhaustion. Lung damage generally does not cause tiredness but can cause exhaustion, although you need a lot of lung damage for that, people survive with only one lung.

There has even been a man who tested positive for covid-19 for 10 months.

With these things they evolve so much, even when in the body fighting the bodies immune system. It is all out war.
Every body reacts differently and a persons body my find a way to live with the foreign body, kill it or loose to it. There is that person who has Aids but it is not acting so he is not sick for example. Biology and chemistry and the industries that battle this stuff have to have super respect from everyone with what they do and have to do.
