Thats cheaper than a game. If you can afford new X-Box/PS3 games you can afford a full OS tbh.

Edd

i fully intend to buy a copy when the promo starts. pro is like £150 anywhere else

zpyder

Half tempted to cancel my pre-order for Home and use my staff email address at uni to get prof for £15 less ><

Any idea whether it would be the full version, or some student version which expires after 12-24 months?

Edd

all the stuff i know is from that website, and the ZDnet post about it

Bacon

I would just like to say, everyone shouts at me for using confusing titles! This applies to students only :P

You cant do a direct Win7 to XP upgrade though.  You still have to reinstall........

Could it not be a little like my Office xp upgrade discs, which pretty much required an older version of office to be installed, but basically uninstalled the old version and installed the new one. Could the upgrade disc not basically go "is xp installed...yes...continue with install?"
