To actually be a bit more forward..

Strange day today, started badly really, came off my bike on the way to work which sucked, first time Ive met the tarmac. Wasnt to bad, picked myself up and dragged my gear off the road, ended up calling the RAC for a recovery.

So an hr and a half later the van and trailer pulls up, and tbh (call me sexist if you like) I was rather surprised when a girl jumped out and loaded my bike up. Anyway, if Im honest I found her rather attractive.. and Im sure it wasnt just the hi vis vest hehe ;) . Only a 10 min tow home yet plenty of good conversation in the cab, helped by the fact shes learning on a bike and planning to do her full test etc.. some chat about cars as well, great common interests. Gets to my road and she mentions she has a friend that lives on the same road, I didnt think anything of it at the time. Unloads the bike and see/wave her off.

Damn so I guess thats the last Ill see of her, just wish I had asked her out for a drink or something, but I guess it would have been a tad inappropriate as she was working and Im of the opinion Im not much to look at anyway, and having turned 24 getting on a bit (she looked fairly young but i guess doing that job not too young really). Low self esteem and self confidence I guess, and now Ill never know if the RAC bird was even remotely interested :(

Still life goes on, damage to the bike was only a lever and an indicator and Im only bruised and a little shaken. Can add that to the list of things I wish Id done, if only I could go back for a do over.

Sorry for the long rambling blog like post but im frustrated and had to get it off my chest so to speak.

It happens to all of us, my confidence has been at an all time low lately. Ive met this girl my self but Ive got no bottle with her at all, just constantly thinking she is beyond me and its stupid for me to try it, everyone just keeps on saying that I should put all the old hurt and sh*t behind me and just go for it.

You never know you may see her again. :)

Just glad you came out with little injury, but all you have to realise is that everyone and I mean everyone falls off a bike sooner or later if they ride!

White Giant

I bit the bullet and told a girl I liked her recently, got rejected, and you know what? It wasnt all that bad at all, we still work together for 50 hours a week, laugh and joke like we always did.

Except now when I stare at her arse and get caught, I can grin and get away with it. :D

zpyder

If her friend lives on the street, just keep a scary stalker eye out for her and bump into her when she visits :D

Or, if you really really really liked her, contact the recovery company and try and wrangle some kind of way to contact her. You think you might have left something in her van etc...

Send a compliment letter to the RAC. She gets praise from her boss, hopefully not to much, and then she might come back and say thank you if shes "in the area" :)

.

I would have thought shed have to be at least 21 or even 24 to drive a van & tow a trailer? especially as a career & for insurance reasons?

 :stupid:  what he said.

The way i look at things like this is, whats worse...

Feeling stupid for 10mins because she said no
or
feeling bad for days or longer because you might have missed out.
Just go for it.

how did you manage to come off your bike?

plus...... girls LOVE it when you ask them out, they take it as a compliment (as long as its "want to go out some time" and not "OMG I LOVE YOU")

Mark

who cares about the woman is there much damage to the bike?

Binary Shadow

i made a schoolboy error and grabbed a fistful of brake mid corner, due to panic that i wasnt going to get round. Bike went over rather than slid out and i was chucked off, needs a new indicator and brake lever, not too bad at all. Certainly be learning from that one, ache a bit today.

Ill just have to keep an eye open since she might be down here to see her friend sometime.

Mark

you should get a stock of clutch and brake levers - youll need them!

Probably a good idea to stock up on foot pegs etc as well - theyre a favourite for breaking or bending and if you dont have a TIG theyre a pain to fix

Binary Shadow

if (when) it happens again i might just do that. Had a go at bending the lever back and of course it snapped so gonna have to wait for the new one to arrive, wednesday by the looks of it.

PuNk

what bikes you got?

ps. dont beat yourself up about the girly, but itd say next time just say "f**k it" and ask away.

I get all nervous an sh*t too, i just have to put myself into a state of "f**k it i dont give a sh*t what happens".

Things seem to turn out well.

Iv got a Honda cbr125r.

Hehe yeah its like "whats the worst that can happen".
