Probably been done/asked lots before. Any suggestions on good mid-range headphones (IE, not earphones)

Am thinking of some kind of wireless headphone set so that I can watch / play stuff on my computer without the speakers waking people up (My speakers seem to require me to put the volume up to hear people talking, but any explosions etc are uber bassy and loud)

Not looking at spending megabucks, Say £75 max for a good pair that is highly recommended and will last.

Im not much into headphones, but a good pair of Sennheisers should be doable at that price.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Sennheisers are your best bet at that price point. They do a wide range, so take your time, pick the pair that seems most suitable in your budget. Im sure youll be happy.

You could probably just about stretch to a pair of Grado SR60 or SR80 open air cans, Grado high end kit is awesome, Im not sure which is better at this price though. The SR80s get very good reviews though.

Wireless are a bit crap for music but fine for late night telly tbh. I got wireless seinheisers and I would not recommend them.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Hmm. Thanks for that. One other thing that dawned on me, Im guessing having another wireless device in my room is likely to interfer with my wireless net connection? Already Im breaking several of the guidelines for wi-fi, access point is a floor below and on the other side of the house!

Im thinking the best option may be wired, 3m of cables might be just enough, if not, Im guessing there are headphone cable extender jacks??

Sorry I totally missed the wireless bit, I was recommended wired headphones.

Ended up with Fat Leons choice. Arrived today. Not quite as noise reducing as Id hoped, but its barely noticeable when music is playing.

Also takes a bit of getting used to the padded band, can feel it on the top of my head, but after a couple of minutes the cushioning on the ear pads and band seem to shape to your head and all is well.

Shame Im a total noob when it comes to the technicalities of audio stuff. Its a challenge enough sorting out the eq/mixer stuff to get the bass right, am sure that I could get sound sounding better through these headphones if I knew what I am doing.

Grado SR-80 are absolutely god like as long as you dont mind open cans.

Cheapest Ive seen them for is about 90 squid.

I use winamp and have the equalizer settings to 0+db (middle) my yahama speakers sitting beside my monitor have a socket for the headphones thats how i connect my headphones the bass on my speakers are set just past half way (2 OClock) now i noticed the treble needed to be upped abit compared to the bose i used to have just about (3 OClock)

They do shape even more and times goes on, quality build compared to bose effort, id say they cut the noise down by half, with music on youll have trouble hearing anything other than the music!

Cheers for that, the bass/treble positions seem to work for me too.

Turns out part of the problem I had was that at some point the speaker settings as defaulted back to headphones/2 speakers and away from 5.1. Shows how much of an audio noob I am that I didnt realise until now. Theres a huge difference in quality coming out of the headphones when connected to the speakers set to 5.1 surround. I guess there was a degree of distortion going on as the sound card processed the audio for headphones and then the speakers reprocessed it!
