RIP Dell P991, Hello New Monitor!

It was a very sad day today, I had to take my trusty old Dell Trinitron P991 to the scrap yard.

Best CRT monitor ever! unfortunatly due to the weight of it, it started to kill itself with the screen starting to fall out of it.

I decided to treat myself to a nice new 22" TFT. Wasnt sure what to get either as ive heard some bad things about mid-range panels and dont want a bad picture, not after being used to the Trinitron.

Anyway after going around all the high street places and seeing them in the flash I got a Samsung Sync Master 2232BW.
Its 3000:1 and 2ms if that means anything to anyone.

Im very impressed so far, it is even sharper than the Dell and not even a Hint of a Ghost trail, even when playing fast games. Quality is spot on too.

Thats excellent.

I must say I didnt think I was going to be blowin away by my 24" Dell but I have been, the colour and sharpness are worlds apart from my once amazing NEC, the CRT just cant cope.

Mine has developed a stuck pixel today after two weeks of constant use, but Dell are coming out monday to give me a replacement  :bowdown:

Is it really that good? Ive got a 225bw and its 7/10 at best.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

yeah im well impressed.
great res, very sharp, the 2ms means no ghosts, contrast is excellent, HD looks amazing.

maybe im just easily pleased but the dell trinitron isnt an easy act to follow.

Nice choice.  I was wavering on one of those last week, really impressed with the picture quality.  Great screen.  I ended up with a Viewsonic though, i only got a new screen as the old Digimate finally died.

I loved my Dell Trinitron P991 - Think i got mine the same time as everyone else when that refurb place was selling them off for 60quid a few years back.

Replaced mine with one of the 24" Dell Ultrasharp and love it! Shame its all the way back in England and Im stuck with whatever i can get out here :P
