Right, say for instance im using IE if i click music/video link it will open it in media player.

If im on the bbc radio 1 site, it opens the media in its own media player and works completely fine.

But, something thats been bugging me about Firefox,

If i navigate to

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/1xtra_aod.shtml?1xtra/allstar_mix

it wont let me use the buttons in the top left to control the stream.

Also if i try to open a video/music stream, the option comes up to view/listen in media player but it wants me to download the whole file first.

This is from a completely fresh install of Firefox and is something ive worked around by using IE when i want to listen to music, but its seems pointless having 2 browsers.

Its really more the fact i cant stream music through bbc, i cant work it out, ive upgraded it to the latest version and reset settings to default, still no luck, yet IE works fine.

Possibly re-install realplayer?

Good point.. I installed realplayer after Firefox, but since updated to the latest version of Firefox , hope it fixes it

The final problem is a setting in Firefox no doubt, when i click any link the popup box in firefox comes up and lets me select
the option to open with mediaplayer but then firefox just automatically tries to download the whole file, any clues?

Anyway have you ever tried the mediaplayer connectivity addon ? (it is for more than ms mediaplayer)
