Is there a way to hook up a 360 to the lan port or one of the lan ports on your pc which is running through wireless to then access the wireless?

Yeah, just need an Ethernet cable.  One of the lads I know did it while he was at work.  Had the 360 running into his lappy, and then the lappy connected to the unrestricted wireless.  Worked fine.  However you may need a crossover cable, his lappy took care of that for him, but not sure if theyll all auto-switch to crossover mode.

Most modern NICs autoswitch to crossover.

Yeah its a new mobo and should auto crossover more or less all of them do these days do they not?

It must be doable surely, I remember using xfire or something (letting you play live without live subscription or something) by plugging the 360 into my computer rather than the router?

360 Knows to automatically switch to crossover, I do it occasionally on the missuss old PIII Dell Laptop.

its easy to setup via ics. I was doing it until I moved to BT broadband and the it failed on the mtu section. Cant fix it at all but oddly if I plug the 360 straight into the hub it works fine....?

made up a cross over cable for it and couldnt get it going  
chopped crossed over connector off and it worked spot on, bizzare eh?

just a quick note, highlight the two network adapters, the one you use for pc network and then the lan port the xbox is in and right click and bridge them.

xbox will then just use your wireless as if pc isnt there.

ran my xbox like that for the past 2 years, got bored of having to have pc on though so just connected it straight to the hub now on its own cable.
