This was spurned from Eagles comment in the "are we screwed thread?" about having a nationalist socialist government. I searched for this in speakers corner and couldnt find anything on it, so I thought Id raise a topic on the matter.

Basically, is anyone else worried about the emergence of this group? Ive read a couple of articles on the guardian about it and they seem to be pretty well organised, and not to mention full of xenophobes and racists. ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/english-defence-league for anyone whose interested.)

The newest article on there is about the preacher in the states who was going to burn the Quran, is going to be coming over here to have a talk or presentation or whatever with the EDL.
I hope that Theresa May does ban him from entering the country as people like that should not be welcome over here.

Anyway, Id be interested to hear other peoples views on the matter.

I saw the local protest a couple of weeks back in Preston.  It was funny watching the EDL Inbreds chanting against the unwashed hippies who has turned up to protest against the EDL.  

local MP here came from london (worked on gmtv as a presenter), what the hell does she know about this area . she said before she got in i will buy a house if she gets in , upto yet her expenses are over £8000 and that includes a pair of gloves she purchased because of the weather . are all MPs bent ? , who paid for this house ?

hardly much to worry about - tis just a bunch of chavs/football hooligan types needing somewhere to vent their frustrations

tbh... they werent just chavs and had a rather bigger grievance than simply not liking dark skinned people.
