just found a random Christmas present in my cupboard (it's the top cupboard and pretty high up / out of the way)

poked a hole in the corner to see what was inside.... thorntons chocolate covered fudge and a box of special toffee....

ahhh, I thought, it must be for my dad.... I was sure I gave him a Christmas present already...

when I gave it to him, and he opened it up.. he checked the date... out of date June 2008

doh!

hmm chocolate hmmm yum yum , you made me want some chocolate now lol

It could well be edible, might as well try, there are plenty of places online who sell out of date food stating that it might not taste as fresh/in date food but its still edible, but i don't know about chocolate :P

tasted ok to me..... and I'd still eat it if it was a bit iffy anyway.... it's not like you'll get food poisoning from chocolate stored in an air tight packet... which is probably gas flushed with nitrogen when they seal it anyway!

I know once I found an advent calendar on top of my shelf which I'd put aside to save till xmas day as a kid. The chocolates had a white coating on them (crystals) and tasted awesome.
