Vinyl is great and sounds great with a good setup the only issues are size and storagespace IMHO

Oh, yeah, CD dynamic range blows LPs away. It seems the real problem is todays engineers.  The author is right about classical music often being the only music that takes advantage of CDs to any degree. Well, that, and jazz, and bluegrass--basically its the popular music engineers that need a beating. :P

Im listening to Elvis Costellos "Trust" right now, and its a finely engineered album, taking advantage of all the range it can. Its always amazed me how whoever engineered the old Costello records could cram as much per side w/o losing too much fidelity. I mean, it runs up to less than a cm from the label. :shock:

Yes :)  So that is that some of my older CDs made from master tapes
sound so good (Music that been released on vinyl only before) they used
the full dynamic range of the master tape.
