I just got hold of the latest build of firefox, it is very stable, and has come along way from the first public release. Some interface tweaks - shading, some new icons but the features added seem to be tight and seems smooth

slick isnt it.  Been using it for about a week, and im more than a little impressed.  The Restore Session" function is something im liking a hell of a lot.

Tabs and the "lots of tabs" drop down list on the right feature also nice.

Beaker

only thing i miss from the earlier betas is the spell checker, unless its just a case of me not seeing what is in front of me.

Serious

Does this mean Im going to have to upgrade?

bear

Sounds good, how is the extension support ?

Quite a few work with no update needed, others allready have some support, session saver does not but its in the browser now, only a couple of things dont work for me the rest and most important addons for me are fine

Note - its addons not extensions now it seems :)

really good so far tbh, its not re-inventing the wheel but its got some nice changes
Only issue is the tabs keep changing size so the close x is never in the same place which is a little anoying, i got to get used to clicking the tab and not going off to the right to close.
The sliding of the tabs though in a scroll is very nice.

except it runs quicker not slower ;)

I grabbed the Linux tarball binary. Runs just fine under Ubuntu. I do hate having a tab close button on each tab. Grrr. Otherwise fine.

EDIT: the close buttons disappear when youve got more than 8 tabs open. Slick! :ptu:

Im using the RC2 under Edgy Eft, and its nice, but Flash does not get along with it. Flash content causes crash and burn. Uninstalled  Flash for now. No java installed either, atm, its rather nice.

Installed good ole Seamonkey and Flash. :ptu: Its like a blast from the past. :D

EDIT:
Dang, forgot how polished Seamonkey is! Much more ram friendly for this old laptop. With Moz, and MSN client, IRC, Synaptic, Gnome System Monitor, a Gnome session, and a few applets in the tray, Im only sucking 118mb. :ptu:

maxi, get yourself a PUPPY!

TBH I quite like it.

For rescue: Yay! For install: Boo!  A slim Gnome install with only wireless and battery applets is both soothing and fairly easy on this lappy. Its all happy and gooey. Runs fine with 256mb/750mhz.
