I need to buy a camera for a family member for christmas but im stuck on what to get.

Budget is around £100-150, so far i found this one:

It has 720p movie recording, is this feature anygood on a camera? Also, how do i calculate the needed memory size i.e x time = x amount of MB/GB used.

Also any recommendations ?

But the panasonic Lumix TZ8 is a really nice camera, thinking of picking one up as a compact...

We tried one of them along side the W270 when we were in John Lewis, Its a lot slower at taking snaps, and the colours werent quite as nice.

Get yourself to John Lewis and have a play with a few.

Ill have a play, my now-ex GF had the TZ7 and really liked it... also has the benefit of the extra zoom, which will be handy

I bought that Samsung in the end.

Next camera i buy will be mine, but ill be saving for a DSLR now , might as well jump in the deep end and learn with a quality camera
