So, theres this field of cows:


Im standing in the next field, very steathily between nothing and more nothing, in broad-daylight. So one of them seem to notice me:


He quickly tells all of his mates!


and they start coming over to have a look:





after a while... (cows dont seem to run that fast)








This one was not so happy with me, it seemed

Wasnt too dangerous.. there was a rusty barbed wire fence protecting me! :mrgreen:

(that and a ditch, and the edge of the field was a bit boggy, the cows didnt seem keen on getting their little tootsies wet!!)

Was amusing watching them - Funny thing is they are curious enough to all come over and have a look, but once they get there they just stand there...  thats all. they just look at you, and..  thats it.  

Spose its more interesting than eating more grass..

I had to do a land survey in a field full of cows over my easter break. Spent most of my time fending off cows who wanted to push over my tripod, and the rest of it standing up ranging rods and pegs which they had already pushed over.

I would have been a little worried, it almost looked like they were forming the bovine equivalent of a crow court and you were on trial

Thats really cheered me up that little adventure there.

and since bse no cows over 30months are slaughtered... so maybe those are the ones for the slaughter

(had another look tho and they look like bulls to me.... just ive tryped this now and it seams a waste to del it!)

Been there,  the cows seemed more interested in my GPS instrument and my sandwiches though.

They came after me after knocking the tripod down and eating my sandwichs.

Cows are usually first inseminated at 2 years I believe. Those are beef cattle, bulls with their gonads removed to make them docile to handle, although it would need a picture from the back to prove it. You can see a tuft on their bellies which cows dont have.
