1500mm equivalent. OK so I dont have a good enough tripod to use it and focusing is a pain, but in terms of focal length I have you both well and truely owned

/breaks into telescope shop and nicks 8" 400X telescope then mounts camera on it

*NOT* but it can be done!  :)

Actually virtually any camera could do that with the right fitting, although its probably easiest with a webcam.

Mongoose

oh indeed it can be done, I hope to try just that with my Dads 8" reflector next time I go home since we have the T2-Pentax K adaptor which allows us to attach a camera instead of an eyepiece.

Quote from: M3ta7h3adI won the DCR-1850 Pro

(Image removed from quote.) :)

The little brother of the 2020pro :) but I have my eyes on that baby soon enough :D

not much difference though is there. looks good enough.

M3ta7h3ad

well... 685mm focal length against 800+mm focal length.

So a fair difference between the two.

But there is also the issue of holding the thing steady and the difference really wont be that great. Keep us updated on results though ;)

Well I only have the 685mm one im saving up for the 800+mm one :)

Holding the thing steady shouldnt be a problem. Just use a tripod.

DCR-2020PRO 2.2X High Definition Super Telephoto Conversion Lens only does 830 on yours - 920 on mine :P :nana:

Not exactly cheap but if you add postage and possible import tax its probably better to go to jessops.

Jessops

M3ta7h3ad

Jessops is about the only place in the UK that sells raynox stuff.

Otherwise just buy em on Ebay :)

M3ta7h3ad

and now I just won the other one :D

Wideangle goodness!! :D

Takes my S5000 to a focal length of about 26mm :D YEAAAAA!!! :D

Serious

I bought the 2.2x one from Jessops today and forgot to get an adapter tube to suit :(

[Darth Vader]NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!![/Darth Vader]

M3ta7h3ad

lol!!! doh!!! :)

Thats the thing... I bought this wideangle mainly because I need the adapter that the seller is supplying with it :D so although I paid Ã,£25 for it :D as the tube is Ã,£10 I really paid Ã,£15 for a lens :D lol quite good :D

Seems I can hold it infront of the camera by hand. At low zoom the vignetting is highly obvious when used like this, you just get a circle view in the middle of the picture. You need to get above 10 X to give a clean result but the result looks good enough and the problem might reduce with the proper tube.

8-10 x would be acceptable with some trimming though.

Anyone with an SLR and a suitable lens could also use this. combined with a 300mm it would give a very creditable 600mm amature lens. Of course you could also put another 2X converter between the camera and lens resulting in 1,200mm but I think that would be excessive.

Need to get an adaptor tube though :(

The DCR-2020pro is only meant to be used at MAX telephoto. So that would be 10x on my fuji :)

Thats about it, although it does make a very nice telepdoto lens. Once I have the tube I will try it for some moonshots to find oyut how well it does.
