I used to be quite a keen photographer but its all fallen by the wayside in recent years however its something Im looking to get back into.

Can anyone recommend me any decent sites to browse with regards to reviews, what gear is currently available, that sort of thing? DSLR technology seems to be changing incredibly quickly at the moment so its hard to keep up.

Obviously DPReview seems to be quite a good one, and the Photography Website looks okay as well, and obviously the BJP always used to be worth a read even though they dont usually spend too long looking at equipment. Are there any other decent ones out there I should be aware of?

DPReview are very inconsistent with reviews, and appear to have a bias towards one of the big 2 (cant recall which) and will slat one and praise the other for very similar spec at the same level etc,

its a good site for general info if you take with a spoon of salt.

sadly I cant think of any other sites for all round gear, but once you chooses a DSLR system there are forums/site soe all the manufactures, and they will be able to compare lens etc for there system far better.

normally I would say

Decide a initial budget, then see what in that price range,
From that range go have a play with the ergonomics,

then if there are two or more systems that feel good in hand, where the controls are not awkward, then look at what else you would want to add and see if the total price is still in budget

dont get to bogged down on the gear spec, as there is no point having a £3000 slr if you hate the feel or its too heavy etc
