I checked my main PC earlier today and found I had over 6.4GB of photos on it while my lappy has 1.4GB totallint 880 photographs, the vast majority are from my Panasonic FZ20 and a lot of them just holding down the shutter release and taking multiple images.

With my film camera I would never have done this, each pic would be carefully done as a single shot. So I was wondering how has digital changed your photography?

its has infuriated me, as people throw tons of bad quality photographs at you while your on the internet, myspace, or just in general.

fools need to pay for their film again an i would be a lot happier

digital hasnt changed the way I take pics as I started with a digital cam, its the reverse, since I started playing with film I tend to be more picky with what I shoot, that is untill l I get to the last 6 shots on 135 or 2 on a roll of 120/620, but it has made me less snap happy with the digital.

"hold the button down until you get a good one"

I imagine thats how is for a lot of people. I can be care-free with the shutter button, as I am conscious that it costs nothing but memory space.

My camera is always in TakeLotsOfPhotosAsFastAsYouCan mode - because all of the abilities of my camera do one thing: let me get a great shot, not merely a good shot, or an ok shot, for a higher percentage of the time I use it - thats what its there for

I do agree with Red there though, 99% of digi pics are crap that you find on the web. I generally only upload the decent ones - itd be painful to do otherwise, as 8MP camera = big pics, and DSL is slooooooow on the upstream :D

Nothing wrong with to take lots of pics to get agood one, professionals do what with film as well as with digital.
I is much cheaper and less polluting with digital though.

Digital photography is a godsend for sports work. Being able to shoot 3 fps without needing to change rolls every 36 shots is wonderful!

Not only sports work, there have been many great photo-opportunities missed elsewhere due to the roll running out, one missed a Charles and Diana kiss because he was changing the roll. Many have ended up with a second camera body to try and compensate while the few who could afford to do so went for a huge back with loads of film in.

Well for me its changed how I take photos a lot, before I had a film camera and well I basically never took any photos.  I dont even have any of the 3 years I was at uni cause I just never even thought of using it.  It was too expensive to get film developed, and having to wait to see if youd got the results you wanted.  Now its all instant, doesnt cost anything its made it so much more accessible for everyone.

I still cant bring myself to use digital only - for me the quality still isnt there compared to medium format, and in a lot of cases a Zenit 122 is still better than my D2X.

I still see a digital camera as a snap picture device, whilst a film camera is for taking proper shots.
