Would not normally post a link to another site, although this one is an absolute winner.  Has all sorts of tips for beginners to semi-pros.  I would suggest scrolling to bottom and working from the end page forwards.  I have to say I have read up on so many different techniques and pointers ... probably better than any book I have ever read.
