Spotted the little thing running about the garden so busted out the sigma 150-500 and wound it round to 500mm.. seem quite soft focus at 100% but zoomed out they look ok. Heavy lens and freezing cold meant i wasnt exactly holding it steady.

Hand held? Theyre pretty impressive and not that soft tbh, not as soft as the Sigma 70-300mm I have!

indeed i had to get out quick as i wasnt sure how long it would be about, so i was out with bare feet and no jumper/coat, no time to get the monopod out or anything. Luckily its an OS lens, without that i think they would have been really bad shots.

I have cropped them a little but nothing else, might have a play with the RAW files later.

Nice, really like the 3rd one, parts of the bread are slightly over exposed but that's easy'll forgiven given the circumstances, give it a little bit of playing about with in photoshop and that should look great.  Not a bad lens if it can do that produce those sorts of shots without a tripod.
