Got my lowepro slingshot

Got all but the massive lens in it ok, weighs a fair bit loaded up but the waist strap helps with that

Seems to do the job, just need to see if it cripples me walking round the forest.

Looks good, though Im still doubtful over the comfort factor of a single strap with all that kit in it.

Would have suggested testing it out today but its a bit damp and I have work to be doing :D

As the one strap goes diagonally across your body it still distributes the weight quite well, and if its getting a bit heavy you can use the waist strap.

Not sure which model that one is but looks the same as mine 302AW?

Heres mine anyway, have used a couple of the partitions, to slot the flash in above my camera attached 70-200mm

zpyder

Its still a single strap with all the weight on though. Ok so the waist straps should take a massive chunk of the weight if you need to use them, but surely when you do you lose the "sling" ability?

Who knows, maybe Ill change my tune when I see one in action ;)

Binary Shadow

yeah its the 302AW

good move with the flash makes getting it out easier when slung

@Zpyder - Give it a go and see how you get on, the waist support is just one large clip so easy to connect/disconnect to sling it, I walked round half of Iceland with it and didnt have any problems :)

@Binary - Yep that and it gives you more room for lenses, and stops the camera from moving round quite so much :)

What are these like for carrying other things in apart from your camera?  I'm looking at getting a camera bag I can also use for work so I can carry around with me more.  So it'd need to carry things like my lunchbox, portable hard drive, few other random odds n sods.  Will probably log a seperate call after I've done a bit more digging about but might as well get your opinion on this one.

Binary Shadow

Theres a section in the top you can chuck odds and ends in, wont fit a big lunch in though

zpyder

Yeah, thats what caused me to end up getting a normal walking bag that is big enough and has side entry so I can carefully put a camera bag inside and still have loads of space for other crap.

Russell

Hmm probably a bit small (not that I have big lunches honest!)   I've got my eyes on a few other bags, will sort out a new thread when I get round to digging through the net again, think this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've looked at them lol

Had a slight reconfiguration with my battery grip making things a bit bulkier

not sure if the flash will be ok there or not yet

Russell

I imagine it would be most of the time but guess it could come loose of its own accord at some point, for peace of mind is it not worth trying to get some velcro from somewhere and using that to secure it to the existing partitioning?  Shouldn't be too expensive and will give you peace of mind.

Why not do what I have done? you should have another spare divider? put the other one above the flash, keeps it nice and safe then (I have one above and one below)

Binary Shadow

I had it like that but the battery grip jacks the large lens up so high i cant get the 2 dividers in :(
