I've been contributing to the Encyclopaedia of Life project (
www.eol.org) since I was on Flickr I think. I just found out about something that is similar, called iNaturalist. (
http://www.inaturalist.org)
Essentially it allows you to add photos of wildlife you've seen, tagging them with their full latin names (and helping with identifications if you're not sure through the community). The coolest feature though is that it's kind of like an anoraks tick-list, in that it gives you a break down of all your "Observations" by species etc.
It's quite cool to see that I have seen and photographed 64 species of birds and 121 species of insect for instance (still adding all my insects).
Just thought I'd share it in case it's of interest to others here.
