Interesting that we have no real crossover in selection this time around, I did try and aim Irish this time. I'm hoping for an actual profit for once

YOU'RE CHARMING THE PANTS OFF OF ME

I too, have had a mare here, locked out for months and too lazy to sort it, thanks Clock'd for the assist  :D

I'm still ridiculously limited at bet365, so won't be using them, prices are swinging about like Linford Christies dick in a sprint already, but I did notice SkyBet are offering 7 places instead of 6, BUT a lot of their prices are not so great, I basically chose horses that were the same price at the other bookies but with the extra seventh place "for value"

Anyway, waffling over,

£5 E/W

Stellar Story 25/1
Quai De Bourbon 28/1

£3.50 E/W

Three Card Brag 40/1
Firefox 50/1
Jordans 25/1

£2.50 E/W

Oscar's Brother 14/1
High Class Hero 40/1

---

Total staked £51

If you've noticed password reset isn't working and other such forum emails aren't being received, it's because the PHP mailer has been silently failing. I've no idea why and currently can't even configure SMTP instead as that's not working.

As soon as I figure it out I'll report back here. Apologies to anyone that hasn't been able to login!

Protip: use a password manager  :ptu:

General Discussion / Grant National 2026
Last post by Clock'd 0Ne - April 09, 2026, 12:08:55 PM
Left it closer than I wanted to, I had my horses penned early this year but totally forgot about it until I was reminded by someone.

As usual 1/5 odds as standard and I've gone with Bet365 for up to 6 places, no really decent offers going around.

Spiel:

(2025 thread here http://www.tekforums.net/general-discussion/grant-national-2025/)

https://www.oddschecker.com/grand-national/winner <- odds table, remember generally the odds tumble as the event closes in.

Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. The national is quite literally a lottery with so many horses running, the bookies can be "generous" On this event because with such an enormous field and now reduced E/W payouts they still win regardless.

My picks this year, all E/W:

I Am Maximus7/1
Grangeclare West 9/1
Captain Cody16/1
Haiti Couleurs16/1
Monty's Star20/1
Lecky Watson40/1
Mr Vango80/1
Beauport125/1

I installed Win10 IoT Enterprise LTSC on my laptop using this guide/script and it was a painless process, so then I did my main rig. Had no issues at all, I think afterwards I disabled a couple of things that were re-enabled, like Windows Search indexing and that was about it.

If you don't want Microslop AI forced on you with the bugfest of Windows 11 I'd highly recommend it.

anyone upgraded?

I've got a tablet with win11 on and hate it... but not sure if it's just because it's a tablet?

I loved that jag I had... but sitting in anything that low cripples me

Saw a spine surgeon guy... on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being fine, 5 being totally f**ked... a few of my virtibray are 3 and the rest are all 4 or 5

Apparently powering through the pain isn't good for you :-(
