Big odds changes as usual, what I didn't notice until today is that this year best odds guaranteed only applies to bets made as of 8AM today it just gets worse and worse value wise  :gag:

At least the odds on Coko beach have halved, good value there, so it'll refuse to run now  :D

My original low end shortlist was:

Mahler Mission (16/1)
Noble Yeats (22/1)
Corach Rambler (5/1)
Vanillier (10/1)
I Am Maximus (9/1)
Kittys Light (14/1)
Panda Boy (14/1)

But a lot of the odds tanked anyway in the week (I should have got in sooner tbh), so now I've gone for something more like your bets:

£5 E/W

Nassalam 20/1
Minella Indo 20/1
Delta Work 20/1

£2 E/W

Foxy Jacks 66/1
Coko Beach 40/1
Stattler 40/1
Galvin 33/1
Kitty's Light 12/1

Total staked: £50

Total to return: £868.30 (yeah, right )

Well, 2nd year no show so it looks like the bet365 mega deal has been consigned to the coffin of history

I'll go for a similar format to last year without the deal, aforementioned Kitty's Light is 12/1, too low odds for me.

£5 E/W

Nassalam 20/1
Coko Beach 40/1

£3.50 E/W

Foxy Jacks 66/1
Galvin 33/1
Minella Indo 20/1

£2.50 E/W

Stattler 40/1
Delta Work 25/1

---

Total staked £51

Fingers crossed it's not a repeat of last year, where 4 of the top 6 horses were 12/1 or under :gag:

Excellent copy pasta

Two horses I've been told to keep an eye on are Nassalam if it's muddy (romped the Welsh GN) And Kitty's light, both are hardly under the radar and I doubt will offer great odds.

I'm going to wait till later in the week and see if bet365 do the mental match your stake deal again  :worried:

So begins the copy pasta

As per previous years all bookies now have pretty much dumped quarter odds E/W, it seems to be one fifth odds as standard.

(2023 thread here http://www.tekforums.net/general-discussion/grant-national-2023/ )

https://www.oddschecker.com/grand-national/winner <- odds table, remember generally the odds tumble as the event closes in.

Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. The national is quite literally a lottery with so many horses running, the bookies can be "generous" On this event because with such an enormous field and now reduced E/W payouts they still win regardless.

Seems like all the good offers have not been repeated again for this year. I'll probably get bets in soon before the odds have dwindled.

Anyone been watching this at all?

I just love the control to keep it in keeping with the original but also be updated. I am enjoying it so far!

bought the motherboard/ram when I was going to upgrade the cctv wall pc... figured it was overkill

I'd bought a cheaper i7... but sent it back and got the faster one when I decided to keep it all for myself

it is fast... noticeably faster than old system, but not massively

don't think there will be any massive updates anymore... progress slowed down so much.... plus it can only go as fast as the person using it

I am no EV fan but I think in some use cases the small ones for pootling about local-ish, which is all a lot of people do then it works for that I guess.

my gf has a hybrid golf... in the summer it'll do 24 miles on a charge, 18 in the winter when you run the heater...

but... charger at home and work... so she can go months without putting any petrol in

it's perfect for her (quick too)

sh*tsubishi Grandis failed its MOT spectacularly and is heading to the scrapyard on Thursday, I bought a 2013 Nissan Leaf from someone local for £3,600, it has 8 out of 12 (I think?) battery health bars so range is 50 miles at best. But I do 10 miles a day top, so this is spot on for me. Lovely to drive, comfortable, not missing much from the post-2017 models, but will never pay tax on it. I've also learned its now possible to get range extension packs and battery swaps (aftermarket, Nissan are funny about replacing batteries).

Zappi wall charger getting installed next week.

I use various incarnations of Firefox as my main browser, Brave is a good second choice, Vivaldi is good for tab groups and some nice features like that. Chrome is basically a backup.
