   2.7-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine
   190 horsepower, 190 lb-ft of torque
   Four-speed automatic transmission
   Power windows, locks, and mirrors

Those power figures seem really low?  The car looks awesome though....

Sounds about right. American cars with suprisingly large displacement engines get similar economy to much smaller European engines, not that Im sure of the tech differences. For example, that Charger gets about the same as a Jetta with the base stateside engine.

The quality of recent Dodges, well, its rather dodge-y. For my American dollar if I was going for an obnoxious muscle car, Id get the next generation Camaro. :D

I know on the YankTanks you usually get a shedload of torque, but even this doesnt seem to follow that trend!

Actually, That Camaro looks nice too :D

could the injectors just be rigged for economy?

big old engine tuned will drink, and in these dark times people want good economy and  co2 emissions.

Those stats are for the bog-standard bottom-of-the-range model

the srt8 is:

6.1-liter SRT HEMIĀ® V8 engine
425 horsepower, 420 lb-ft of torque

Still, compare that top of the range 6.1 with a mitsubishi evo FQ400 with 400hp from 2.0 litres

Or a 3.6 litre 911 turbo with in and around 440

Or if were scrubbing turbos, the current shape M5 with 503bhp from 5 litres.

Its pretty abysmal tbh.

max - are you sure about the economy? A euro car with those figures would pull anywhere from 30-40 mpgs depending on car.

But the Euro equivalent would be 2 Litre (Clio 192 anyone) not 2.7 litre. Tuned like this and the fact the car weighs almost exactly 1000Lbs more than the clio and youre garunteed to get crap mileage.

Figures from sites show.

Charger 2.7 = 21mpg Urban and 28 Mpg Highway
Clio 192 = 28mpg Urban and 43mpg Highway

American gallons of course.

Last couple long hauls in the Jetta (2.0), I got around 29mpg, cruising at close to 90. The EPA rates it a couple points higher, which is odd as I almost always get better economy with cars than theyre rated by the government. Grandmotherly road skilllzzz!

In its defence the numbers for the Charger will be US gallons, so multiply by 1.2 gives

25 Urban  and 34 Highway.

still not up to the clio, but I know which one Id rather be driving.

A family size car that looks pretty cool. Who cares if the engine has a drink problem and it aint in a hurry to get anywhere? I think everyone knows by know american engines yadda...

With some decent wheels and black paint thatd look way better than owt vaux/ford/frogs/toyota do.
