50cc or 125c?
on: July 17, 2010, 21:17:08 PM
Not really a biker, but the wife has just booked her CBT, and were looking for what would be best for her.

Basically, anyone know the actual insurance differences?  and any particular bands etc?  Looking to spend not a lot, and something sub-par I can pull to bits in the garage and fix up would be fine.  Shes only going to be using it for nipping round town, and the odd trip of about 30 miles.

50s are dangerously slow. a 125 is just about acceptable, insurance shouldnt be an issue.

Go for a decent make like Honda or Suzuki.

Thats what I suggested, but she doesnt like the look of offroad style bikes.  Shes pretty set on a 125 now, and either wants a Sportsbike style, or something with fairings on it.  Shes a girl, she needs it to look good. :\

rather annoyingly shes the one who made me get rid of my NSR!
