Oh yeah I forgot about an increase in insurance, I'm 6 months into this policy and my insurance has already just gone up from £55 a month to around £65 a month now as I have had to increase my average mileage on the policy!

I will do a new quote on a diesel Focus.

Thanks all - Liam

Be aware that if you do a lot of short runs here and there, town driving, etc then you will not really see any benefit to diesel, the benefits come on long motorway drives where you can tank along at a considerable mpg without lots of stop/start business. I can get to Newcastle from Portsmouth on a tank (quite heavy footed) in 5 hours, but nipping less than a mile round the corner to drop the missus off five times a week can move the bar considerably what with starting from cold, etc (diesel engines no likey cold)!

I have to fill mine up soon, I drive it a couple of miles twice a week now and that's it, haven't filled up for months :-X

Will be £65 I reckon.

I got a motor-heater on mine :) makes a lot of difference on gasmilage and lifespan of motor.
